I had no problems playing CK2 under the old patch, unmodded, but after I changed settings to "draw_trees=no" and added some music to the music folder, it started locking up shortly after starting a new game. It seems to lock up whenever it changes tracks, although I was also clicking around provinces at the same time. There's no music, I can move the mouse, and background game noises still occur, but I can't click anything, and the game remains locked and unresponsive. I have both DLCs, but not the music DLCs, and no mods. I bought it from GamersGate, and it still happens under the new patch.

The other logs are empty.
It happens even when I use the original songs.txt, but leave the mp3s in the music folder (as happened with the above recorded lockup).
If I remove all the added .mp3 files from the music folder and play, it seems to run fine.

Here's an excerpt from my modified songs.txt
Code:
song = {
	name = "InAgesLongPast.mp3"

	chance = {
		modifier = {
			factor = 1.1
		}

	}
}

Your checksum is bad - have you modified any game files? If not, you ought to uninstall, delete, and reinstall.

Just the songs.txt in music, and added music files. I have the DLC installed, too.

I converted all the song files to .ogg, and it looks like it fixed the problem, but I haven't played long enough yet to be sure.
