Hi, as per the title, my game (Steam version) is repeatedly crashing after I installed The Slam update. The game runs for about 3 minutes, then straight to desktop.

I've tried reinstalling, playing in safe mode, removing all but 1 save game, compatibility modes etc. etc. - basically everything that the internet suggests, and it's still happening so I'm hoping someone on here can help...

I've got 3 crash dmp's but since I'm no dev, I'm unable to read/translate them into a useful fix - if I upload them here, is anyone able to give them a look and hopefully see what my issue is?

Please attach the game debug text file, found here:
%localappdata%\introversion\Prison Architect\

To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

Also
AND DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

If we can't solve your issue this way then we'll take a look at the crash dmps and send them on to QA.

First try updating that nVidia driver to the latest

Failing that, Please try this:

- uninstall PA from Steam
- unsubscribe from all mods in this game's Steam Workshop

Delete the following folders if still present:

- Steam/SteamApps/common/PA
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Introversion/Prison Architect/
(keep any valued save games, of course)
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

Now install PA again and see how that goes please!

Hi Andrew, thanks for your reply.

I've done what you said, I did need to update the nvidia drivers - now I can play a new game without it crashing, but my old save keeps doing it.

I fear this means it's now corrupted with whatever was the issue before, so unless you've got any suggestion on how to fix my specific save, I'll just start again (annoying, but at least I can still play the game...).

I know nothing about this game's save files, I'm sorry. Your best bet would be the modding forum, as they are more likely to be familiar with those files, I'd expect.

Good luck!
