Game running error

hello,
last 2-3 months (cant even remember anymore) i cant start the game.
i open steam, choose europa, press the play button , i choose either one of the 3 choices (the button changes for a moment to "x stop" and then resets to >play, without launching paradox launcher.

i deleted steam and reinstalled in even on different disk. (before reinstall the probem was even worse when i pressed the play buton the steam went to state of "playing" , on task manager i had paradox launcher as a running program but the launcher never actually loaded ( ihad to force stop from task to close it).

if i open the game through the .exe from the steamapps-> common-> eu4 folder the game will load but without my owned exps.
i did several times to delete, re install both game and steam, what to do now?

Installing the game on a different disk has no effect whatsoever on the launcher, which is a separate app.


Please try this:

- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- exit the Steam app entirely
- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam


IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

This is a Windows problem. I've seen it a few times but I don't know what causes it.

Please go to C:/windows/system32/ folder and copy (NOT move!) msiexec.exe to the Steam folder where cities.exe is.

Then run the game from the Steam PLAY button. That should do it for you!

so i see the problem! i can't find cities.exe

Right click on this game in your Steam Library, Manage, Browse Local Files. It's there.
