Game unplayable due to constant CTD

I am unable to even run the game anymore due to crashes. I'm running 1.4a.
Any suggestions?
It was crashing when I tried to load a saved game, now it crashes when I try to run a new scenario. This is not an enjoyable experience.

Should I try to reproduce this? Just wondering

If you have the time then reproducing never hurts

Well 3 saved games weren't reloadable but the 4th was, lost 3 years of game play, so its no big deal. And had a ton of fun with it.
