Hi,

I'm checking with our support person at Paradox. She's confirmed that the game is running on Steam for other users so it it most likely something computer related. She's looking into it right now.

If you go into the properties of the game in Steam, you can do a "check integrity of game cache" or similar. This takes a while, and checks so all the game files on your computer are correct.
Please run this and try again.

Do you have an antivirus program running? Try disabling that when starting the game and see if it helps.
