Game wont launch

I am having some issues when it comes to launching my game, when I try to run it through steam it won't open and I can't even get to the launcher. I tried doing it from the files and it gave me the following error message;
d3dxcreatetexturefromfileinmemoryex could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings II\CK2game.exe.
I have updated all my drivers and direct X, I have reinstalled the game, verified, deleted all files manually and reinstalled and none of them helped.
Could anyone suggest another fix?

Has this game ever run okay on this computer? Or never?

How about EU4 and HOI4, do they run okay on it?

Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings II\ _CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\ and run dxsetup.exe
Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings II\ _CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\ and run vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe

Thanks for getting back.
I have not run CK2 on this PC but I have run EU4 and HOI4 and they work fine.
I also tried the fixes you posted but they have not fixed my problem.

That's interesting because that looks exactly like a DirectX problem. Yet CK2 and EU4 use the same DX modules.


DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .
