Game Won't Play

I start the game, the opening video is fine, then I see Churchill, Roosvelt, and Stalin with green loading thing loading. It starts loading and stops at 'Initializing Sound' then the screen turns black, an error message comes up asking me whether I should or shouldnt send the report, after choosing, I return to desktop.

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Run a Virus check and a Adware/Spybot checker
6) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-4.

well, I've solved the first problem by re-registering quartz.dll. Now that I can actually play, I see a lot of lines on the screen. Only on the map though. The Technology , production, and even the area on the left where it shows you the country, flag, army, etc. doesn't have these lines. I'm guessing it's another dll re-registry problem, but not sure.

Make sure your video drivers are upto date.
How did all your dll's get corupted?

Okay, now all my problems are fixed, YAY! . Thanks! And about the corrupt files, I got them from going to a site that supposedly gives you cd-keys, because I bought a game from a friend, and he lost the case. I got a **** load of spyware. So I bought spyware stuff and registry fixers, and all I had to do was re-register my newly-fixed dll's.
