Gateways are generating border friction

4. When did this start happening?
A few months ago, just realized why today
5. Can you replicate it, if so, please explain how
Open your borders to an empire with gateways when you have gateways
6. Does this happen on all saves or just specific ones?
All saves
7. What steps have you taken to try and solve this yourself (reinstall, Google error code etc)?
New games, reloading.

When you open your borders to an empire with gateways, all of your systems with gateways will generate border friction.

Questions

1) Have you researched the Gateway tech?

2) Have you repaired/built any Gateways in your empire space?

If the answers to both of these are yes, then that would be why and this isn't a bug

unlike wormholes which only have one entrance and one exit, gateways are interconnected
so any active gateways in any empires would create boarder friction

Well that is annoying when I have lots of gateways.

its also bad because if the enemy has the gateway tech they can use a gateway to get into any of your systems w a gateway during war

Really? I thought gateways are closed for enemies. I think it was mentioned in the wiki.

Gate way networks are sealed so if you take a system in war with one you have access only to that one not there whole network.
