I'm playing a Elementalist with the cult of personality racial trait. At level 12(+3 Renown) I've basically unlocked all the skills. I see only five open skill choices but I have 8(+1) levels to go. I'll basically have all the skills and no where to put the points and no real choices to make. The design sort of forces you to race to the bottom to get you signature spell. Then you realize you really had no options and no where to go from there.

The quickest fix it to connect the left and right with a horizontal bar connecting like the blast evocation in the center has access to (shown in green). This would technically let me spend all my skill points but doesn't address the feeling of making choices.

Some suggestions for new skill nodes:
  • It seems like quite a few nodes for +%magic damage were removed these could be sprinkled around various paths
  • AOE elemental support vulnerability debuffs spells. Instead of direct damage perhaps you could specialize in applying -X resistance to a damage type. Example: A Fire resist Debuff that chains through the adjacent enemies and lowers their fire resist by -3. Then you fire all your pyromancer units spells at them. So it's like sundered resistance but stronger since its focused on a damage type. Depending on if it can stack it would be stronger or weaker values. If it could stack perhaps its -2 if it can't perhaps its -4.
  • Area terrain effects. Similar to what some elementals put down: lightning clouds, fire on ground, icy ground, wall of rocks, etc. Minimal damage but apply lots of statuses.
  • I see that summoning elemental would sort of let you put down terrain since many of them have a sort of explosion ability that does this. So perhaps the debuff and areas could be an alternate focus to making creatures. Maybe the areas do both debuff and apply status.
