All of a sudden my guards stopped manning any of the door control systems.

All of the DCSs are attached to door servos, all have power, all were working fine until they stopped being manned.

I've dismantled all the remote doors and replaced them with jail doors... now the workmen won't take the boxes away and all doors are stuck open.

I've got about 809 hours on this game so I know what I am doing. Something is broken it looks like.

Would be nice if you go here: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Introversion\Prison Architect
and get the debug.txt file (after running your prison) and upload it here as well as your save file which is also in the same directory, inside of Saves folder.

a) Wouldn't want to be anything but nice!

b) Debug attached.

c) Cannot find the correct save file in that folder. There are some old autosaves, but the save file for my prison is nowhere to be seen.

d) Loaded it up and it seems to be working now. No idea what changed. I dismantled one of the DCSs, built a new one. Removed all of the remote doors and some of the servos. It didn't work the other day, but loading it up today there are guards already at the DCSs.

Could have been magic?

If you saved to cloud instead of locally, the save is in:

.../steam/userdata/YourSteamID#/233450/remote/saves/

Can't upload the save file. I get an error that the extension is not allowed.

The following error occurred:
The uploaded file does not have an allowed extension.

If you compress it to a .zip file or similar it will upload just fine.

Same here. Guards just hang around in the Security room but don't use the systems. This has been an issue for a while though; I'm surprised you didn't already know about it? Wouldn't be able to provide save files; it's pretty random when it starts happening.
Cooks often take over doing the tasks and I can't stop them... Whenever I prioritize the tasks, a cook arrives, operates the system for like an hour and then goes back to the Kitchen.

I have the exact same problem.

Can we get saved games showing this from you also please? Then I'll log a bug on this.

Save file and debug.txt attached.
As Skullmonger said, it worked when I loaded it today. Very strange, so it's possible that it takes a while of playing for the bug to appear? This isn't the only prison I've seen the bug in but I can't confirm which ones, it's been a while since I lasted played :)
It may be a result of the slight gap that the guards take when operating (the warning triangle appears for CCTV monitors so I assume they aren't operating for a split second)? Maybe they are accidentally assigned to a different job and this breaks the cycle? (However, if this was correct, I would assume that moving the CCTV monitor would fix this, but I tried that)

Hope this helps?!

Hmm, well I can't really escalate a save that doesn't show the problem ... if you get one that reliably does please update us here!

This is my prison Arlington - the cooks are operating all the security monitors, and the guards won't! It is not an intermittent problem for me. Hope this comes in useful.

I have the same problem and looking at other threads in this forum, reddit and on steam I see many many are talking about this bug.
I did try a mod that would fix this but all it did was to make sure cooks do not operate the doors and cameras. But the guards still did not use them.

This is such a MAJOR bug that it's unacceptable that Paradox don't seem to be doing anything about it.

Good luck to them for selling their latest DLC in June. I for one, will not be buying.....
