Guest ward arrives at court but does get a guardian assigned

Description​

When intended guardian is not available on ward arrival there is not pop-up and the ward is just stuck at my court. (Have not tested enough if there is a time-out and the ward travels home)

Steps to reproduce​

Offer guardianship to a vassal courtier child. After offer is accepted and ward sets off for my capital assign two wards to the offered guardian. When ward arrives it is just stuck there without a guardian. Offering a new guardian works like normal and in one day the ward arrives and is assigned the new guardian.

Another issue is if the guardian is jumped to another court. (spouse or sibling inherits) Suddenly, the ward is stuck at the final destination, there is no option to offer another guardian. The ward has the guardian listed but is not in the guardians ward list. Right-clicking on the ward just gives there is nobody in wards liege court to educate and right-clicking the guardian has no option to remove ward.

After three years of my grand-nephew being stuck in Könungarðr, after his guardian got jumped to Ceredigion, he finally got invited to a meet peers activity in Saran. His travel plan is certainly impressive. Maybe he'll get to Wales in 2 years and we will see if I can get him out of a foreign court.

Could we have an opinion on this? I have to pin wards from vassals and check in like 5 months later to see if they are just idling at my capital location because their offered guardian died or had other wards assigned. I had one ward where I forgot to pin him and I discovered 3 years later that he was just hanging around without a guardian. Another issue is wards who lose their home court when they travel and is just set to wandering. They are no longer with their parent and cannot be invited directly because 'Is unrelated child'.

So one of my dynasty members aged 14 and currently a guest in Könugarðr, was invited to a meet peers event in Vestr Agðir. She isin the Baltic sea and I want to switch her guardian to a witch. Not possible because she is traveling and busy participating in the activity. Removing the guardian cancels her event participation and changes her destination to Kazanskaya, her home court, and I can still not offer a new guardian because she is traveling.

I tried to reproduce the issue of the OP (the one described in the 2nd post might warrant a different report and investigation) with 1.10.1 to provide if possibe, but wasn't able to do so:

- When I offer guardianship to a vassals child (regardless of my character self being the offered guardian or a 3rd person) and fill the slot before the vassal agrees, I receive an angry letter of the vassal about breaking the promise
- When I wait until acceptance and fill the slot while the future warden is travelling, the travel seems to abort simply

I wasn't able to find a line in the changelog of 1.10.1 explicitly stating a fix of such a bug; however it might be subsumed under "Fixed various issues with the travel plans of wards and hostages"

Hello @Anthalas

I could partially reproduce your issue. When the ward arrived to court there actually was a toast message (the "parchment" one) that ward was invalidated, however they stayed at my court - guardianless.

Regarding your second issue - I also partially reproduced it. When I landed the guardian, the ward stayed at my court. However they were still assigned to their old guardian. I'm not sure how/if this influences ward's education.

In anyway I will search our database and either update or report these issue as I described. I will link your post and mention in the report how the issue occurred for you.
