Hello to all,
I am sorry if this topic already exists, but I have a problem running Doomsday with patch 1.3a installed. If not installed the game does a fine job for me, but since I have it I just can't get past the intro, a friend says (per Skype) that he hears the menu sound, but the only thing I see is the loading screen.
I am running an Vista HP 32bit
Intel Core i7, GTX280.
Anybody got an idea what this problem is and how to fix it?

Try the following.

1. You have the latest version of your video card drivers.
2. Rename the AVI folder to AVIBack to avoid the intro movie...

No, I just have a loading screen, but if I switch to desktop and back to the game it says me critical error message and that something is not in the installation folder (Sry for bad english). But reinstalling the game does not fix the problem.

Hi,
I'd try the following:
1.) check for newer graphic card drivers & sound card drivers,
upgrade if necessary.
2.) have you tried playing the game windowed? I guess the game is not intended to be alt-tabbed out of it (although that works for me). You can have the game starting windowed by adding WINDOWED to its starting line , but make sure the colour depth of your desktop is set to 16 bit.
