Help! A bug or something!

As soon as my Eu has loaded up and the main screen appears, everything just starts to flicker. I can still play, but only for about an hour as the game crashes. Does anyone have a clue what´s wrong? Has it happened to you? Help me :S

well, this is a common problem.

First, check what you have running in the background - programs can make this happen. Musicmatch is a known culprit.

Second, rename the folder called AVI to AVI_back - this will disable the Bink player bits which can cause this.

Also check all your drivers and Windoze is up to date.

Very rarely I have had the same problem which is solved by restarting EU2.

The usual culprit for me is AVG running a scan in the background. That makes it flicker.

And did renaming the AVI directory, or killing background apps, fix it for you like it does for most others?

Thanks for all your help guys, but the flickering isn´t gone. I must be doing something wrong. :wacko:

1/ have you or have you not renamed the AVI directory and rebooted?

2/ do ctl-alt-del and look at the task list, what apps are running other than EU2? Kill everything else.

3/ if - and only if - the above don't help, do start-run-dxdiag and post the output here please.
