Help! All leaders trapped in fleet...

I couldn't find any mention of this in on the boards or in the FAQs. All my historical leaders have been placed in the fleet after I've transported their armies by boat. It's like the army disembarks, but the leader stays on to be a naval commander. I've now got 4 or 5 historical leaders in my one fleet, and not a single one for my land armies, and of course I'm getting my ass handed to me.

Any ideas?

I had this problem when I used disembark army and moved my fleets away too soon. try pulling into port and see if the leaders disembark.

If that doesn't work, edit the leaders onto land (that is what I had to do, eventually).

Are they Land Generals (or conquistadors) or Naval Admirals (or explorers) ?

If they are Generals it's a bug, check my FAQ under misselaneus for how to make a good bugreport.

If they are Admirals however ...

Yea, I know that at least one of them is a land general. I moved his army onto the fleet, moved it around some, then unloaded it again onto the same territory it came from. Then I wondered why the heck I suddenly couldn't win a single fight...

Do you see him when you cycle through the commanders? There's a little arrow that's not obvious at first that will cycle through all leaders in a stack. Might be related but I've found that if I have two admirals in a stack I need at least 8 ships to split then into separate stacks (using the split command).

He didn't die of old age while on that boat did he ?

I mean, when you look at the leaders page in the ledger he is still listed ?
