I'm quite foreign to writing code but I still want to create my own mod so hopefully someone can help me.
I want to create a ship mod and I can't seem to even create a simple ship.

Here are my steps and the problems I met...Everything is copied from the corvette file

Created frigate_ship_size.txt file
Created frigate_section_template.txt file
In the section template file I changed the key from corvette to frigate (ex. FRIGATE_MID_M1U)
On the other hand, I let entity remain as corvette (entity = "corvette_S1_entity")
...I then went to the ship assets file and copied the corvette part, changing all the corvette parts to frigate. (did this for each individual species)
When I went in, I couldn't see the model in the designer preview window...I could build the ship but it ended up being extra big...
So could someone please explain to me what I did wrong?
Along with that, could someone please clarify what key and entity really does?
Also, what does the assets file do?

Cheers
