Did you download 1.08 from the Paradox website?
Are you sure you DLed 1.08 and not one of the Beta1.08's

So when you run the 1.07 patch (why not 1.08 by the way)
What happens?

Hmm do you by chance have the non Paradox released version that came with Crown of the North?

Did you check the install shield entries?

Look at the self help guide (which is stickied at the top of this forum)
Post number 4 I think has manual uninstall instructions.

When you installed did you install to the default drive and the default path?

What publisher version do you have?

First empty your temporary Internet files,
delete the patch, remove the game from your system following the instructions in post #4 of the self help thread stickied at the top of this forum.

Do a fresh install:
then Download the patch,
Try the one from this link:
http://www.paradoxplaza.com/files/patches/eu2_1.08.exe

then run the patch from the folder you saved it in.

And since you say it says 1.00 then I assume your EU2 did not come with any other games.
