Never made a mod, let alone a mod for this game. However, I have put almost 1400 hours into this game, and I am a Dune fan, so I wish to make a total overhaul for this game. Why a Dune mod never saw the light of day for this game, We will never know, but better late than never I guess. anyone who would like to participate in this mod, join my Discord Server at https://discord.gg/SFnSnSr for further discussion on the matter.

While the backdrop of Dunes' setting mentions much about the noble houses, both major and small, the original series by Herbert only makes mention of three of the major (Corrino, Harknonen, & Artreides), with perhaps a few minor that escape memory. In short, I'm not sure how one would attempt a dune mod without heavily veering off the source material (let alone getting into his sons work). Some quick questions I have are this: Is the mods map staged on Arrakis proper, or will it be a macro map like the old confederation mod (planets are counties etc)?

Truthfully, I'm not sure which I would actually prefer, as each comes with drawbacks, and would not give to the full Dune experience.

There are much extra lore material outside of books though, many games and mods made about it, can use much of that material.

Besides that, I don't see any technical problem with having small amount of starting ruler dynasties in CK2 mod. Different - yes, bad - nope.

The issue wouldn't be necessarily a small amount of starting dynasties, but a comically small amount. If the mod is focused entirely on the surface of Dune, than you are restricted to the Fremen holds, and the main city. I did acknowledge the expanded universe material, I was just particular that you will not find much filling information without veering off the source. (I.E the original series). The point is a Dune mod would need to go off of EU material or wholesale make up things.
