Help With HoI Anthology

Help With HoI Anthology/Download v 1.2 Arma

Hello. I have been inactive for a long period of time and due to personal problems. Having lost/damaged all my old games (and my computer as well), I decided to start again by buying HoI Anthology (and another game).
1. Game versions: Anthology contains HoI v. 1.06c, HoI2 & HoI2 DD v. 1.3a (JCJS) and HoI2 Armageddon v. 1.1 (GKCW). ARE THESE THE LATEST VERSIONS?
2. Manuals: The only documentation provided is a paper booklet outlining HoI2. I cannot find the manuals (for all 4 games) among the installed files. I still remember HoI thru HoI2 DD (and I can play them by memory) but Armageddon is new to me. WHERE I CAN FIND/DOWNLOAD COPIES OF THESE MANUALS?
3. Strategy/Modding: BESIDES HoI2 Wiki & THIS FORUM (OTHERWISE BOTH FROM GOOD TO EXCELLENT) ARE THERE OTHER RESOURCES FOR STARTEGY AND MODDING?
4. Time limit Mod: I remember a “no time limit mod”. WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THIS MOD (FOR ALL GAMES)? BUT, BETTER, CAN I “DELAY” THE END TO 1-5 YEARS AFTER THE GAMES’ SET DATE (RATHER THAN AN UNREALISTIC FUTURE)?
5. Scenario Editor (for all games): I cannot figure it out. IS THERE AN “HOW TO USE” GUIDE?
6. Gaming Directory: With my old/original games I made the mistake not to copy the files with the result of messing/corrupting the files (and the disc). This time I copied all the files of the 4 Anthology games (in a desktop folder “Archives”, subfolder “War Room”). SHOULD I PLAY THE GAME FROM THE C: DIRECTORY (WHERE WAS ORIGINALLY INSTALLED) OR FROM THE “WAR ROOM”?
7. Mods by CORE/DAIM/etc.: WITH REF. TO ABOVE DIRECTORIES, WHERE SHOULD I DOWNLOAD THESE MODS (C: OR “WAR ROOM”)?

1. No Armageddon v1.2 is the latest version. Hoi DD v1.3a is the latest version for doomsday, your Armageddon needs updating. The patch can be found in the Hearts of iron Doomsday forum, it's a pinned topic.

3. Apart from the Wiki- Maybe a few hearts of iron AAR's can help you?

4. Ask in the Doomsday forum, you will get a faster response.

5. Don't use it unless you want to corrupt your game. Edit the files manually.

7. Into the Doomsday folder, even with Armageddon the Doomsday folder is the main directory. (Not 100% sure with Anthology)

1. Only part of the Anthology you will need to update is ARMA; check the HOI2 doomsday forum for the correct 1.2 patch location. This depends on whether you have the box set of the anthology, or the Gamersgate version of ARMA.

2. The manual is part of the box set (at least mine has it); if you bought anthology as a download then check the download site for the manual; possibly it is a separate download.

3. Check the hoi2 scenario and modifications sub forum. Often the experienced posters can help you; and they will have links to utilities and other web sites in their sigs sometimes.

5. DO NOT USE THE HOI2 EDITOR TO EDIT ANYTHING. See stickied thread at top of the Tech support forum.

6. You can copy the game as you have done and play it directly from the new directory; just create a shortcut to the right place. It is not necessary to play from the installed directory; this is useful for playing mods.

7. Copy your "vanilla" install to a new directory for each mod and install the mod into the new directory. Leave your original install alone. Some of the good mods use the JSGME utility, unfortunately most dont.

As for v. 1.2 of Arma in the forum I found the link for HoI Anthology.
I saved it on the desktop but when I start the downloading it selects the directory /.../Doomsday. I would expect that it goes into the directory /..../Armageddon. Having in the past messed up several times I am hesitant.
Should I let it download into the Doomsday file or select the Armageddon file?

You are correct. You want it to go into /..../Armageddon.

With the Anthology Arma is a separate game, whereas the original was a Doomsday expansion and placed in the DD folder.
