First of all, I apologize if this is the wrong section to put of this thread.
I have been having a slight problem with HoI2 during installation. During the time that it loads onto your PC (you know were the percentage appears) it loads all the way to 93% then it just stops. CD and all. Then an error pops up saying something about a component transfer error and apperantly so data file called data2 i believe is missing or something. My hunch is that the CD's been corrupted--how I dont know. If anyone has heard of this problem let me know, I need help. The urge to play as the USSR is so enticing.

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this.

If am using the standard store bought version of HoI2 with Windows XP

First clean the CD with glass cleaner like windex, or eyeglass cleaner, then wipe with lint free cloth.
Also try copying the entire CD to Hardrive and installing from there.

Okay let me know

Umm.....actually it didnt work out to well. Both cleaning and manual install. I do believe that the CD itself was corrupted. It think this was about to happen anyway, some of the campaigns wouldnt save or would simply kick me off. I appreciate the help Castellon, think i might have to shell out for a new CD though. Bummer.....C'est la vie i guess

Make sure you do a good Virus scan and spyware scan as well.
