Salutations Victorians!

Hotfix 1.9.5 is now live! Another small hotfix aimed at tackling some issues with how the AI perceives the fairness of current treaties and how it gives and receives investment rights from smaller economies.

Check out the full patchnotes below! Checksum is `a209`.

As always please report any bugs on our bug reporting forums! We have also updated the Known Issues post for 1.9 with fixed issues!

The following changes have been made to the game compared to 1.9.4:

AI

  • Fixed a bug where the 'fairness of current treaties' value was being wrongly calculated, resulting in major penalties for quite fair treaties
  • Fixed a bug where the 'fairness of current treaties' value was being applied during renegotiation
  • Fixed a bug that made the AI unwilling to get foreign investment rights in smaller economies instead of being unwilling to *give* foreign investment rights to smaller economies

Does AI build trade centers in states without any now? I still haven’t seen any mention of that being fixed this week.

I take it this means a 1.9.6 is due next week? Based on some posts from earlier hotfixes, I was under the impression there is a bigger hotfix in the works:

Not next week but the week after - unless we see something broken to an ungodly extent and need to fix next week that is the plan

Will be addressed with 1.9.5, saw the UI mockup for it today :)

A few more improvements to Earning Recognition are also coming in 1.9.5, advancing/retreating score for absolute GDP ranking and removing retreat for low GDP per capita/low SOL, to make it more reasonable to complete for China/Japan.

Today's hotfix became 1.9.5 so it will be in 1.9.6 which is currently slated for the week after next, so about 1 1/2 weeks away.

I believe that this is still unresolved, but luckily there is a very easy workaround to at least partially resolve the AI logic issue until Paradox are able to fix it more comprehensively.

Guts or inexperience.
I remember when I did that 2 years junior in the industry. I had to spend Sunday fixing a bunch of code alone.
Oh, I had a release today myself.

Good to see other men of culture.

This was fixed for 1.9.3 initially but it turned out to badly degrade performance so we reverted the fix before releasing the patch. We have a proper fix for it that doesn't degrade performance coming in 1.9.6.

Currently our plan is to release 1.9.6 as an in-progress beta patch sometime next week, with the full patch to follow a week or so after that. We want to do an open beta to be extra careful about not introducing major bugs before the summer break.

Any plans to do more open betas in future? Or even closed betas?
