How do I add mods to the steam version of CK2?

I have the steam download of CK2, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add mods to it! Does anybody have a clue what I need to do?

If you just want to add downloaded mods: Put them (folder + .mod file) in ...\Steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\mod . Then you can activate the mods with in the launcher window.

Make sure to put in the .mod file,the one that looks like an MPEG file. That one is crucial!

"ck2game.exe" starts with the launch window for me.
