Upon the death of a Lord Commander (LC) a random courtier is appointed as a temporary LC during the election period. Anyone can then get an event to become the new LC and wipe the temporary one from the history, their chance of this happening is based on the MTTH of the event which is influenced by a plethora of different factors.

So, what happens when you are playing as the night's watch and you (as lord commander) die? I heard you made them playable, but I'm wary to try them as the succession is not along dynasty lines.
