I'm new to modding, so please bear with me.
I made a little event that kicks when someone die, how do I check if this is working ok?
Common sense tells me that I dont have to wait to someone to die... May I kill my ruler with some console command? I know I can try event #, and my mod works as designed (give some trait to his/her heir), but the person is still alive. Any help?

There is a console command for this- you can find them all in the cheats thread, but the one you're looking for is

kill #character ID. The character ID is a number that you can find either in your savegame file or, if you play a historical character, in the crusader kings II/history/characters folder under the relevant culture. Say I want to find William the Conquerer, I'd go to this folder, pick out the file titled "Norman" and find William in it.

To kill character 12345 you type kill 12345
