How to end Trade Embargo

Hello,

the nasty Spaniards put a trade embargo on our glorious nation.

How can I convince them to end this trade embargo short of capturing their CoTs?

I know these problems very well, since the Chinese kicked me out of their wealthy COT. To be allowed to reenter You have two options:

a) declare a war and make a peace (to whatever conditions). The peace treaty always includes permittance to the COT for at least five years
b) Improving relations actually helps alot! After improving relations by extensive ass-kissing (aka 'presents') the Chinese allowed me permittance again by themselves! (It´s only worth it with a rich cot, though).

Hello Frodo,

Just to add to what Hartmann answered already,
you may look at the Spanish COT, if all traders from other nations are greyed, not just yours, you can be sure they had the 'trade ban' event.
In that case, you just suffer for a couple of years, and your trade will be admitted again thereafter.

Hello Hartmann.

I had the case where the Mamelucks declared war, and the Spanish followed suit as their allies. After the peace I still was not allowed to trade.

So does Spain have to be the Alliance leader to allow trade, or do I have to declare the war?

same thing happened to me
i was banned from a spanish CoT (others were still being let in)) which at the time was a big deal because Spain controlled two of the biggest CoTs (Andulucia and Flandres)
declared waron them, won it and got a really favorable peace settlement
after the war, still banned

Perhaps peace after wars don't remove the event

Is it the event (ie are all nations banned or just you) ???

Hello,

no, it's NOT the event, it is just me and somebody else. With the event a peace settlement should not circumvent the effects of the total embargo.
