To my understanding we can only import 1 diffuse map with _d at the end right? This is new to me. I have models that use multiple textures and I see many works here with the same. How do you consolidate all the diffuse textures into 1 and UV map an object? What is this kind of unwrapping called?
I tried merging 2 textures in one image file using Photoshop but I'm having a hard time figuring out how not to get both bricks and roof shingles on all faces for example. I'm using Blender but I imagine the principle is the same for many applications am I right?

This is the only thing holding me back from finishing my first building. For now I have a test building object made in Sketchup that I can successfully get into the asset editor.

Thanks, nice building btw. Will be downloading it if you release it.

I can unwrap the faces and get them to the areas I want in the map but what about brick and shingle textures that have to repeat in both directions? I'm starting to think repeatable patterns is not good for this situation when sharing a map.

You can't use repeating or procedural things like bricks or rooftiles or things like that. You must then have the surface you need. ready in the texture. You can reuse the same part of the pic several times but for bricks it would get complicated and you would need too much cuts in the geometry for it t be feasible.

Reuse of the same space in the map can sometimes help to gain space. Look at my uvmap, the balconies are all textured using the same part of the pic, at the bottom. The sides of the building also uses the same part of the map.
