I Can't save my game!!

I don't understand... I'm playing as Byzantium and year is 1635 (I'm using EEP). So far there had been only "normal" crashes to desktop in my current and previous games, so that I have been able to continue after reloading. But now, I just can't save my game anymore!! Everytime I'm saving, the game crashes to desktop. This is really annoying... The latest savegame I'm able to save and reload is in december 1635, but after that all my attempts to save my game have been failed.:( This also is the case with autosave, so I can't use that either...

What's the problem? I've noticed that there is actually two kinds of save files: eug files and eug.cfg files. After failed save attempt there is only this eug file in the directory, so it seems that the game crashes before it has created eug.cfg file...

Please help, the history of the Byzantium Empire can't be left unfinished...:)
 
I haven't encountered this problem at all in the past and I'm sorry to say that I can't think of a good reason for it to be happening other than some sort of file corruption. The only solution that springs to mind would be to back up your last good save and then uninstall and reinstall the game.

I suppose it might somehow be related to the EEP so you might want to ask about it in that forum as well.

Didn't help... I completely erased EU2 + all related stuff from my hard drive and reinstalled EU2 and EEP, but the problem didn't disappear. This is very odd... I can save my game with no problem for example in 30th december 1635, but in 1st January 1636 it results in crash to desktop!! I also tried to play some years forward before saving again, but it crashed still. I also loaded my game as other nations in December 1635 and played with them to 1636 and tried to save, but again the game crashes...:(

I really would like to find out what's behind this problem. This kind of things really don't encourage to start new game.:(
 
Reinstall it without EEP and try it, we need to determine if it's an EEP problem or not.
 
Yup...or at least I *think* you can.

It is possible that it is a corrupt save and simply nothing will save it, though. Brace yourself for the possibility, sad as it is, and start planning your revenge in the next game. :)
