Right now it's 1066, and Georgia is only a minor kingdom in the mountainous Caucacus region, occupying the ancient regions of Colchis and Iberia, north of Armenia. They are the major Christian power along with the Alans to the north, and the Greeks who occupied with the Turks.

The Kingdom of Georgia is a relatively young state, having been unified from the various principalities in 1008 under Bagrat III. However, the Bragationi dynasty is much older, dating at least as far back as the late 8th century under Ashot I.
But, eh, lets forget about some history and have an introduction into the story's key players.
Ah yes, this is THE man, Bagrat IV, grandson of the great unifier. It's a good thing this dude is a good general, which is good, since Georgia would be much better as an empire anyway. Plus, more conquests means more demense, so partitioning it up won't hurt so bad. He's married two women, Helene Argyos, a Greek, and Borena of Ossetia, sister of the Alan ruler Durgulel.
This is my only son, Giorgi. Rather young man, the product of my second marriage. He is a fairly competant ruler to say the least. He is currently married to a distant cousin, Helena Bagrationi.
Finally, the daughter, Miriam. She happens to be a fairly good diplomat, better than her brother, strange considering her brother is trained as a diplomat and she in court intrigue. But eh, that's life. Anyway, Miriam could be very useful in the court.
