Hi

Which is the default start date for this mod? Which has had the most work put into it? Or does it not matter?

Thanks!

I would say a Clash of Kings would be a good start if you want to play during the Game of Thrones TV Series Timeline, or War of Conquest if you want to replay the Conquest of Westeros by Aegon, a Feast for Crows would also be a good starting date if you dont mind spoilers

I like the War of Conquest scenario the best but if Aegon fails his conquest or stays Valyrian it can mess up Westeros so several restarts is sometimes needed.
Robert's Rebellion is the main scenario one could say since it was the first scenario that was made so I guess it is the most polished as well.

A Clash of Kings, as the Good Master of Astapor. It's the only true way to properly get the verisimilitude of the ASOIAF experience across.

...But seriously, I'm rather found of that bookmark, as well as Aegon's Conquest and the Rogue Prince starts.

Robert's Rebellion. It's somewhat easy to win, it has enough fighting, it doesn't have any mechanics that can be game breaking under certain circumstances, and there are a lot of canon characters.

The Bleeding Years works out best gameplay-wise, I think, because Westeros divided allows for more freedom of action.

Yet it's still fun to play Robert's Rebellion, Clash of Kings and Feast for Crows for the canon characters and all the wonderfully non-canon things you can do as them or to them. Marrying Roose Bolton and Cersei Lannister in the Robert's Rebellion bookmark, for example, made me laugh myself sick at how such a relationship might have played out.

Do you like white-haired dudes on dragons fighting other white-haired dudes on dragons? Well, that 'Dance of Dragons' bookmark might be of interest. :D But no, really, it's the bookmark with the best Targaryan start, because there's plenty of dragons and plenty of Valyrian's to keep the royal blood pure.

On the other hand, Robert's Rebellion and/or A Clash Of Kings are all actually better in having families that, true to the books, are less likely to go extinct in twenty years, if only because there are more named characters spread around to make the dynasties more stable. There's less chance of, say, killing the only Foote male accidentally in a tourney and such. Also, some houses noted for their robustness, like the Umbers and the Crakehalls, tend to only have those traits in house members alive during the time of the books.

Yeah I would actually recommend the Dance of Dragons start because of all the dragons and chaos that is involved in that start date.

Play in the year 8152, as Aegon III, the year before the last dragon Morning dies. Try and alter history by keeping the dragon alive and keeping Aegon's son Daeron alive during/after the conquest of Dorne.

If you enjoy constantly failing i recommend playing Stannis in a feast for crows, Aegon son of Aenys in faith uprising, or Rhaenyra in Dance of Dragons.
