It's going to be just another title for him I think.

I see. I was a bit worried because I've read somewhere here that military orders act differently than kingdoms. I mean, they do not share the same, uh. . . "variables"(?) so im worried it might mess up my game in the future.

And also, in the same game (I play the de Hauteville dynasty), I conquered the King of Egypt and wrested the kingly title from him. Then when I gained his core provinces, i.e. the duchies of alexandria and cairo, it also made me eligible to create the title, King of Egypt. So now my current king is the King of Sicily, Leon, Portugal, Andalusia, Egypt, Georgia, and Egypt. Is this a bug?

I have CK-DV patched to 2.1beta and I'm playing the DVIP mod.

I've had both titles, and it didn't cause any problems that I'm sure of. I think I got it by first somehow vassalizing one of the Orders, and then taking it when he broke the vassalization.

That's because King of Egypt title the Fatimids start with it is a muslim only title. It's not creatable, but it's possible to claim it in a war. Then there's the creatable crusader Kingom of Egypt, so in effect there are two king titles for Egypt.

That's pretty much what I did. And after taking it, I gave it to my king's heir.

Gracias for clarifying it up. So my king is actually the King of the Fatimids and Egypt. Awesome. Now if only there's a way to convert him into a muslim. . . What a great rp'ing time I will probably have. :D

Won't it mess up my game once he ascends the throne?
Since you're the player, when he inherits he will become your kingdom with 'Templar Order' as an additional king title. The only effect will be that there will no longer be a templar order.

If an AI Templar Order inherits another AI kingdom, the effect will be the reverse: the other king title will be another title of TO, who will be Grandmaster of both.

I just tried this out and I can confirm that if the Grandmaster title is one of your secondary titles the game functions normally. It counts as a king title as well, so you get extra prestige from it.

Unfortunately it calls you "King of the Templar Order" rather than grandmaster. Oh well.

Thanks for the heads up amigo. My grandmaster heir is, well, still an heir unfortunately. His father, the king, has no intention of dying yet, I'm afraid. "King of the Templar Order" is not bad, I think. You can just roleplay and tell yourslef that your king is the overlord of the Templar Order, i.e. he has absolute temporal power over them. But in matters of religion however, good old Mr. Pope lords it over.

I've been getting lots of events where the pope demands that I institute the Church Supremacy law. If you refuse, you are automatically excommunicated. I'm not sure if this event is linked to having the KO's title or if its something else, but I can't remember ever getting this event before, but in this game I get it within a few months every time I switch my law.

How did you make your heir Grandmaster?
Just send your heir to the knight order as a fosterling, chances are, he will eventually become the heir to the Grandmaster. Then just kill off the old Grandmaster, or if he's really old he might just die before your heir returns home.
