I would like modding

Hi guys. I would like to mod ck2. I am not a expert in modding but knows what it is about. Only one problem it seems I cannot access the files *.txt to do that. I got the CK2 Game through steam. I do not get the file traits.txt or danish.txt for example
can someone help me to start modding

I own CK2 on Steam as well and I have no problems. File path should be ~\Steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\ and then whichever directory has your text files. Open with text program of choice and modify.

Thanks for your help. I was not looking in the steam directory but in the paradox interactive directory instead!
