I have a few questions about immigrants and immigration:
(my party already have full_citizenship)

-How do i make the immigrants from other countries to change their nationality to mine, portuguese for example (i'm playing with Portugal)???

-Why don't the POP's with nationalities from africa (african minor, ovimbumdu, bakongo, ...) change to my nationality, if my party have full_citizenship??

-Does anything else influence these changes of nationality, beyond the full_citizenship?

-I have lots of immigrants (north german, south german, irish, polish, romanian, ...) that after arrive in my country (in varied states, for example: faro, mocambique, gabon, angola, ...) they form groups of POP's with the same type of ideology, issues, religion, and nationality that after some time they don't change their nationality to mine, instead they are turning my country in a rainbow of nationalities, and i don't want it because if they're not of my nationality and i can't grant the status of statehood to the states of africa. Can anyone help?

Thanks

I would suggest looking at the VickyWiki in entries like "assimilation" and "immigration", it has fairly comprehensive articles on those.

The only thing i can say is that POPs will only very rarely change culture in colonies. In other words, no assimilation of either immigrants or native Africans in you African colonies.

If you want to be able to grant your African states statehood you must first make some of your German national POPs move there and create a majority (and that is more easily said than done )

The VickyWiki is offline, that's why i have ask here on the forum.
And my nationality is portuguese, and not german (north german or south german).
Granting statehood also works with majority of european nationalities? Or is only with mine?

thanks

IIRC there must be a majority of one of your national cultures in one of the provinces in a state to grant statehood.

Also, in Europe only very small POPs will assimilate to your national culture, and it takes longer time than for example in the Americas. I can't remember the numbers on top of my head, but depending on different circumstances, the max POP size for assimilating could be something like 500 or 1000.

I think that Eärendil is right that the pops have to be extremely small to convert their culture. It sounds like you are trying to industrialize Africa. You can do this without converting their culture. Expand the RGOs in your African provinces with a good life rating and encourage your state culture pops to migrate there. You can do that by splitting pops at home and making sure that they stay unemployed. Farmers and laborers are really your only option. Craftsmen and Clerks would not be inclined to move since you have no factories for them to go to yet.

I had one game that I was playing at Prussia/Germany and owned the territories around Kenya. I had expanded the RGOs to level 4 or so and had a TON of Germans moving there. They were actually the majority population in almost all of the provinces...

Full Citizenship is also great because once you grant statehood, you can use the non-national cultures as Craftsmen and convert your national cultures to Clerks to maximize RP generation.

Good luck!

sry, don't know why i thought it was German

In some scenarios Portugal maybe have an all Portuguese Cape Verde province. Since it's technically part of an African state mainland province, you can grant it statehood, and with full citizenship and clever use of POPs turn the state into predominantly Portuguese...
