Olaf,

I am truly sorry that the tools don't work for you. There is a small chance that they won't work with really old versions of Microsoft Java, such as might be the case if you use Windows 95/Internet Explorer 3, but I am not sure as I have not tested it.

I figured out my problem.

Did you get the programs to work, and how?

I think you will like the next version of the IGC Config tool. You will be able to toggle various IGC scenario options on and off before you play the game. These are the ones I've already implemented:

'Hartmann's Alternatives':
1) Independent Ireland
2) Austrian Netherlands (exclusive with 3)
3) Austro-Spanish Netherlands (exclusive with 2)

'Scandinavian COTs'
4) COT in Skåne
5) COT in Copenhagen (exclusive with 4)
6) COT in Stockholm (exclusive with 4)

'Various'
7) Super Hansa (Like in the regular GC)
8) Independent Bretagne
9) Independent Norway (for all those Norwegians out there!)

What other options would you like to see? Personally I would like to include Oranje's model for an independent Holland as an option.

As an option for the IGCConfig, I'd like to see the alternate French/English start (no Joan of Arc) where the English still own large parts of France.

The other options are meant to be interpretations of actual history (somewhat defensible, anyway), but I might include some alternate history options as well. :)

How about using IGC Config (or something like it) to tailor games for the human player. For example, when the human player is Spain, give the Aztecs and Incans Minimal/Small forts.

Well, the next version of the IGCConfig will have options to turn certain features on and off. It would be a simple matter to include an option to switch Incan and Aztec forts on, but it would be something the player would have to switch on manually in the IGCConfig--it could not automatically be detected if a human happened to be playing Spain.

Is there any way to increase the revolt risk for a time for the Incas?

No.

At least through the 1500s, to simulate the actual struggle to finally conquer them. And possibly include more than their home province if they revolt.

This, we can do easily. Hartmann? :)

Also, would adding a moderate Incan army on the border provinces where the Europeans attack be actually useful for their defense?

Perhaps... We would have to make sure that the Incas could afford the upkeep though.

Is it possible for you to have the IGC config tool do something like that where I could pick Provence and Sardinia as revolters?

It is certainly possible, but it is quite a lot of work reassigning country tags... Many files are affected. I will think about the problem. In the meantime, I think we should just reinstate Sardinia or Provence at the cost of FPR.

I mean in IGC.eu file in you have removed pictures and descriptions from changed majors. This can couseerrrs.

AFAIK all the majors get their map picture and description just like in the GC. However, the minors don't, since there is no picture and desc available for them. In any case it shouldn't cause errors since the text and image are purely cosmetic.

Hmm, I was not aware this was a problem... It would be relatively easy to add some dummy text and a picture, I suppose, but if we don't want to use some text already available in text.csv we need to use the patch tool to add it. I will fix this.

any chance of throwing in the free Transylvania starting option into the igcconfig,

Maybe. If there is a demand for it. Every new option takes time to implement though.

UnionBuster,

Yes, sure. The USA option is very rough as it stands. I think I will give them some dynamism for the next version (kind of hard for them to expand otherwise. :)) I guess I could slap together some early leaders too.

I would like to have Transylvania instaed of Mexico

Maybe some clarification is in order: Transylvania is already in the IGC, but only as a revolter. The question is just if we should provide the option to have it independent in 1492.

IGC 2.1...

...is now released.

This is mainly a tweak version, but here's the lowdown:

- Leaders and monarchs added to the "USA 1492" option on a Vinland premise. (Viking colony.)
- USA given some colonial dynamism for the "USA 1492" option.
- New config option: Moldovian Bujak
- Polish leader file upgraded and some Russian leaders re-activated. (Not properly tested for balance; could require further tweaking.)
- Swedish vassalage to Denmark shortened to prevent unhistorical annexations.
- Russian and French starting tech levels adjusted.
- Chinese and Japanese fortresses upgraded to level 4 to hinder European expansion.
- 1520 IGC scenario added, courtesy of James Oakley (and of course Johan@Paradox! :p)
- Russian "Time of Troubles" revolt events downscaled.
- A bug from 2.0f that screwed up the historical colony names has been fixed.

Enjoy!

Can you quantify how much less impact the Time of Troubles had?

Yes. The third wave has been reduced by three obscurism events, the second wave by two. I look forward to the coming debate; some people seem to want the challenge and historicity, others get annoyed by it. It is a fine line...

BiB,

I am not sure I am interpreting you correctly, but are you of the opinion that the Burgundy option should be dropped and the tag used for something else?

Agreed, if it wasn't for the fantasy scenario, the BUR tag could be used for something else... Sardinia will probably return, with New Spain changing tag to FPR.
