Installation Problem

Hey all,

I am having a problem while installing the game. The game starts the install fine but then at 1% it has an issue every time while trying to install the intro movie to the game. It says there was an issue with game media and it asks if i want to abort or retry. I tried retrying but that did not help. I am using an Inspiron 2200 Laptop and I have run a number of game son it before so I did not think there would be an issue. I have tried updating some files but did not know which driveers specifically as relates to video to update. Anyway thanks in advance for nay help you guys can give.

If I read you correctly, the problem is with installing the intro movie, not with running it? If so the video drivers have nothing to do with this. Most likely you have a faulty copy of the game. Try it on another machine.

I tried it on my desktop and it did not work there either. It seems that as you guessed it is a problem with the CD. I was hoping it was just a problem with Win XP but I guess now or is it? Anyway thanks for your help and if there is a solution other then buying a new copy someone please let me know. THanks again.

The game installs and works perfectly fine under XP. You could try cleaning the CD, aside from that you can download a fresh copy from http://www.gamersgate.com/ for $US15, or try your luck on eBay or Amazon.
