Exactly what it says on the tin. I'm playing as Balon Greyjoy, Clash of Kings scenario, and I took the Westerlands after siding with Robb. The realm is still fragmented so I tried Invasions of both the Riverlands (under Iron Throne control) and the Reach (temporarily but not de jure independent), but even though I was doing well both invasions "ended inconclusively," seemingly randomly. Nobody died, no event fired that I could see, but I wasn't able to complete either war. Any idea what's going on?

I'm not sure if this is related, but: If one invades the Westerland and doesn't finish the war before Stannis or the Targaryen's win their war for the Iron Throne, you get an automatic "war ends inconclusively" upon the regent change even if the Westerlands is still independent and the Iron Throne is still waging war on the North.

Could something similar have happened while you were invaded the Riverlands? That is, a regent change of the Iron Throne?

@ramblymanguthri So it's not that, I checked that out.

Here's some more information: I had the same problem playing Aurane Waters, with Pirate Invasions. I attacked Stannis for Driftmark, and the war "ended inconclusively" even though nothing changed for the Mannis. So I disbanded all my levies, redeclared war using the same CB, and this time it let me play it out. In the same game, I used Pirate Invasion on another holding and also got a "war ended inconclusively," but that message included in parentheses "Liege change," which I know is a valid reason for wars ending inconclusively. The random inconclusive war endings when I was the Ironborn and the Pirates displayed no message like that.

The lack of a message, plus the ability (as Waters) to redeclare war with the same CB against the same target and not have the war end makes me think this has to be a bug.
