Ironman game stuck on "Preparing Game" while loading

Like many others, I stopped being able to load the game... I had sunk a good many tens of hours into this game, would rather be able to finish it.
I have a few DLCs and no mods.
Tried restarting the game, computer, no luck.

I guess it was started under sme previous game patch, would that be right? If it was started under say 3.9.x or earlier, it is generally best to continue it under the same major patch. But now it has been loaded and saved by 3.10.x that won't be possible, unless you kept a manual copy of the galaxy from the 3.9.x patches.

If that is the situation, I don't have a lot of hope for that save, I am sorry! You could post it in Bug Reports though, for QA and the devs to look into.

The save was definitely started in 3.10.x. I did try to start it under 3.9 just to see if it would work, and I got the game warning about the mismatching versions.

If it was started under 3.9 then loaded and saved under 3.10 , you would get exactly that warning under 3.9, since the save has been upgraded.

3.10 was released on 16 November, was this galaxy started before or after then?

If before, unless you have a save file that has not been loaded under 3.10 I don't think there's much hope here, I am sorry! You could try the good folks over in User Mods, they have experience in diagnosing crashing save files.
