Well they made a new 1.03 patch called 1.03-MP but that was just as bad the first one... I guess the are off for the weekend now. So the answer to your question is NO!
I think they're letting us out to dry till 1.04 comes out. I have no source to back this up, just the general trajectory seems that way. Last week Johan said ASAP. ASAP worked maybe for the Scandanavians, but not in North America.

Neither Johan nor Paradox have any influence over when a NA patch gets released. You need to lean on Strategy First.

Since people are complaining, plainly Paradox's leaning is not enough. Some more from customers can only help.

But the english version doesn't work! I have bought the game to play exclusivily mp and I can't! It's unacceptable! I must wait before I can play! When I buy a car, I don't receive the engine 4 months later!

Does this mean 1.03 will work as long as the host is running 1.03-MP?
Actually, this makes a little since as it's the host which crashes when players join for the NA 1.03 version.

Yeah, the version control check is not done when joining directly at IP numbers.

..... but that version is all buggy....Who wants to play that?
I too bought the game back in December to play Multiplayer. Generally, I practice a bit in single player but thats about it.
To tell the truth I've only played EU II a few times since I bought it, as I've been so disappointed with the MP side of it and the game in general.
However, I am looking forward to trying some MPing with the latest patch whenever they get off their duffs and release it.

I have to agree it is really sad that a game out of box does not work MP. And I sure don't mean that being able to connect counts as working. I don't care what Johan says MP as of right now does not work. It crashed way to often and to many problems with saved files. Now it looks like we have to wait for 1.04 to get a chance at MP I sure hope this one works. If 1.04 does not fix MP my EU2 days will be done. My faith in this company will also be gone.
As of right now I will not buy any future products from this company until game hits bargin basement prices and maybe not even then. The only other game I have played that I went through something like this was Black & White which was a huge joke. The game couldn't even be finished because of a bug they missed on it's release. It took them 3 months to fix this after release. I have and will not buy any games from them again.
