Is mp with 1.02 impossible?

Is mp with 1.02 impossible? (edit: no it is)

I tried to play mp-games with 1.02, against people who had 1.02 too, but it wasn`t just possible to join in a started game. What was wrong? Anyone?

Yep, I thought it was something else, because I (thougt that I) have turned it off, but I had to disable the engine and than it worked... Now only getting 1.04 and I can enter the world of mp! :)

ok, than only problems could be:
-connection: 128k modem
-timezone as I`m in Europe (and I should go to sleep right now as I have colleges tomorrow morning ;))
-I don`t see myself as a real expert i the game (hint :eek:) so i`m not sure if I`m worthy enough to join a clan

Well to answere this:
1. Thats better then me. I have a 56k modem:cool:
2. I have a lot of european contacts now and will set you up games on their timezones;)
3. Expert, bah. I am the worst player to ever grace the halls of this game:D You will do fine:)
 
Kasperus, you do know that PL 1.04 patch is supposed to be relased tomorrow (today, actually;)). I don't know if they will actually do it, but if yes, then enjoy MP, as 1.05 will be probably relased in May, and i don't suspect that CDP will relase PL version before summer:rolleyes:

OK, that`s a relief :D And, I have 1.04 just today!

I don`t have to wait anymore, as I bought today the dutch (=european ubisoft) version, which is already 1.04 and has a bigger chance for being updated. I was reluctant about it because most shops sold it for 45 euro, but I found one which had it for only 25 euro, the same as in Poland thus. I did not had to overthink it. So mp, here I come!:)

As I said in the beginning of this thread, 128k isdn modem, so 128k I guess ;) not very fast but should be better than 56k. On the other hand I don`t know what amount of speed depends on the speed of my internet provider (does it matter actually?)
 
128K will be fine. I'm starting to hear that alot of problems eminate from the host so 128K ought to be able to keep up given a fast host. C U out there soon then

Just to clarify, there should be an addendum to the multiplayer part of this game: Not playable on University campuses with server-blocking technology.

Because DX7 DirectPlay multiplayer technology sets up a connection that looks an awful lot like a server, my university blocks it out too. I've spoken to them at length about the issue and they insist there is nothing to be done about it.

Johan, I'm pleading with you to find a way around this.
