So much lost potential with these crashes really, it's a shame.

It's more of a shame especially because the devs call it a machine problem on our end when I have 16gb rams and i7-2700k, and have not experienced any crashes outside of this mod.

It's never a machine problem when so many people experience it with popular PC settings(windows 7, 64bit, large rams and good CPU, updated drivers, etc.) It's very frustrating I have no means to convinces the devs otherwise if they are not experiencing the crash even if they play more than 100 years.

Well I can tell it's not a machine problem since I don't have the problem with other mods such the Github version of VIET Immersion, nor with Project Augustus. I do have this problem in the base game actually though last I checked, and also have had it in A Game of Thrones mod. Had it in the base "A Game of Thrones" mod with no submods, though that may of been in 9.1; can't remember, pretty sure it happened it 9.2 but what Im going to say that follows makes that seem unlikely. Still if it helps I have started playing 9.2 again, was unplayable for awhile with the crashes, and this time with the submod More Decisions; since I was getting crashes anyways figured what the heck, and had similar problem until I took a hint from someone else and deleted the Create Assassin's Guild parts of More Decisions religion and all and have not had problem yet so far about 100 years in though I also did use knuckey
fix from earlier in this thread, while before I had a random crashes before after every 20-50 years no matter the start date I get none for now. Don't know which fix it was, but together they seemed to help. If I get crashes again will update accordingly. I can sympathize with those having problems; believe me I stopped playing the mod over it for awhile, but at the same time problems like in this game engine are strange and often very difficult to hunt down, so really don't blame the devs, but definitely frustrating other can play this awesome mod without trouble, and you can't for seemingly no reason. Only reason I mention any of this in case it can help.

I was hoping the latest version would fix the almost yearly CTDs that I get, but alas, it didn't. I thank the creators for all of their hard work, but in its current state the mod is unplayable for many and thus all of their hard work sadly can't be appreciated by nearly as many people as it should be.

+1

The logs and saves generally dont help us I'm afraid.

However i've changed something which appears it may reduce CTD frequency. Try putting this file in mod/A Game of Thrones/events/

http://www.mediafire.com/view/pwaqv4owpa4udh1/maintenance_events.txt

Please anyone let me know if that helps.

Thanks Knuckey! CTD´s still happen but the fix helps. Now i maybe get 1-2 CTD's an hour rather than 6-7 :)

Something that helped me before I downloaded the fix was to do a clean install of CK2 with AGOT as the only mod.

I've never seen any of the devs say its a machine problem. Maybe you're getting confused when they state its an engine problem, but engine as in the CK2 engine.

To make a general response to everyone asking have we fixed the CTD problems.
Yes and no:
Yes as we have used the validator to fix any errors we could find and hopefully stabilise it.
No because I do not get CTDs... literally never. I cannot fix what does not happen for me. Random CTDs are random, there is nothing we can do to really fix them; invariably they are down to your machine and nothing we can do.

Blackninja said that, and it clearly says its "machine" problem. I have never seen any dev say its a CK2 Engine problem anywhere

Where did he say that?

Oh what a muppet. Blackninja says dumb things sometimes.
Well it is either misfiring events causing strain on the engine or a machine problem. As I currently do not know of any misfiring events and am not receiving crashes it must be a machine problem. Not necessarily that your machine can't handle it, but that I can only go off of what my computer does.

For me personally I was having all the issues everyone else was having last version with all the crashes and such, but this newest version seems to have fixed it for me.

Aside from crashes, how much you people can play without lag or ctd?
For me after 80-100 years of fast game without ctd, it becomes unplayable.
I made a clean reinstall of the game on a SSD.
Here are my specs:
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz (8 CPUs)
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series

How are you not getting crashes? What's your system specs?

Well technically I lied about not getting crashes as when making new events things can screw up and cause a crash but in the release versions I don't.
Specs: Windows 9.1 64 bit, Intel Core i7-4770 3.4 GHz 8CPUs, 8GB RAM, nvidia GeForce GTX 760.

Windows 9.1?

Are you a wizard blackninja?

If so, Magicka needs you.

Since the new forum ate the previous thread I guess it's suitable to continue here.

I wonder for people experiencing crashes in AGOT; Do you have crashes in vanilla CK2 as well, albeit a lot less frequent? AGOT used to be a lot more stable for me, but that correlated with "never" crashing in base CK2(IIRC pre-India). Now several updates later AGOT crashes a lot(every 5 years), but so does vanilla every 50 years or so on average.

Agree this is most likely an issue with base CK2 engine and compatibility towards certain soft/hardware. AGOT just pokes these holes with a dragon and magnifies the issue.

I crash quickly/often under 0.93. Multiple start dates/bookmarks tried. I run CK2 vanilla, all expansions, and i am crashing maybe once per one hundred years. The first time under 0.93 i started and looked around, decided on marriage offers, minor titles etc, then hit the pause button to start the game. Bam! First day it crashed! :)

Thanks for your hard work on this mod though, I am sure this is just something stupid that will be solved.
