Have them to increase prestiege? Cost tons o cash, other events lead from these? I just want to be there....its so hard to immerese urself in a game these days.

Hmm, suddenly I get flashbacks to the good old game "Defender of the Crown" God how I loved that game. Probably the best game I've ever played untill "Pirates" came along...

Hehe...I loved 'em both. Funny that back when the graphics and sound were absolutely horrid, they were able to make better games than today's.
Although this doesnt apply to Paradox...EU2 was the strat game Ive always wanted, and CK even better since its medieval.

Well, since graphics and sound was rather bad, they had to concentrate on making a good story, atmosphere and playability.

Then you'll be happy to know that Cinemaware is remaking it for the PC and calling it Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown. Expected release date is Q3 2003. That was one cool game ... I especially liked ripping down rival castle walls with the catapult.

There's been a remake out for some time now, here in Germany. Got bad reviews, though, because it's still the same gameplay, only with nicer graphics. Did anyone ever get the jousting right?

Never got the jousting right. I think I won one joust the entire time I played the game (which was quite a bit). Ah, gaming nostalgia
I won a few jousts but the graphics were all screwy (at least on my machine) so I lost interest real quick. I don't even remember much about it except the jousting.
Defender of the Crown.. aah fond memories.. To bad I had to pick up the digitally remastered version recently, playing it now ruined all those good memories!
1086 was great, very buggy on my machine though..and I didn't have the net..if they had patches..but fun ass game. I never could beat that dragon..and I could never seem to get his cave when he wasn't there to loot it..but I did take the crown a few trimes..and I could kill anyone in jousting..

I loved that game and for the life of me could never win more then 50% of my jousts! I loved getting into the castles and find booty that was great.
I never defeated the dragon either, but if I recall you had to marry one of the ladies at the games in order to get the fire proof armor.
