As the title says the game crashes whenever the king of Ireland dies. I tried loading the game as a different country and typing die and the game still crashed. I'm using the latest beta patch

This is an unfortunate bug as the current game cannot be contiued until I figure out what happend. I hope this can be fixed somehow maybe by editing the file, obviously my current game is ruined!

Send it to me rarred or zipped by email and I'll take a look at it. I might be able to hunt it down.

Damnation! my crappy isp won't let me send anything larger than 3mb as an attachment. Even zipped the file is 6mb. I don't think there are any free email providers that allow such large attachments?
 
I received it and after a brief look, I'd guess the problem with the vast number of titles your king of Ireland holds. I remember CTDs associated with inheritances of vast numbers of titles before, so if you could try if it works ok after you give out all (or at least some) of those duke tiles you have gathered? I am unable to test this theory out myself unfortunately, but if giving out the titles doesn't fix the problem, please report back and I'll take a more in-depth look.
 
Yes, actually I tried handing out the titles a while ago and that didn't do it. I'm very greedy with my titles I hoard in videogames I guess.

Whatever caused the crash it's not having too many titles, it's the death of that particular character. This is just a hunch but I remember some oddness with events for that character 2 happening simultaneously something like that. That's my guess why it crashes.
 
Well, I don't see anything fishy with the king himself, except him having negative fertility. But I doubt that would cause crash with death.

As another possible cause, in the game, do control any provinces as part of your demesne, which you are not listed as count of? I've seen an obscure bug, where you can somehow end up owning a province in all other ways, but you don't have the count title for it, which is the normal signifier of ownership. I wouldn't be suprised if it would cause a crash at his death, if you have this problem.
 
My apologies you were right in the first place. The crash was caused because of the huge amount of ducal titles my king was holding. I wanted to test your demesne idea, so I reloaded the game and handed out the duke titles so I could see what count titles I was holding. The game didn't crash this time. I must be losing it this is seriously disturbing to me. I would swear in court that I did hand out the ducal titles and the game still crashed but somehow I'm mistaken.

Anyway thanks very much for your help. Much appreciated sorry I wasted your time.
Now I need to start a new thread on what to do with too many ducal titles. :)
