Ok, so I can't remember whether it's Line of Robin or another name, and the exact situation in the title hasn't happened as Line of Robin Arryn son of King Ronnel Arryn is a bastard, but still...

My point is that the AI considers the "Line of ___" characters as legitimate names to name their children. Is there some way to make these names impossible to take? Assign them as limited to a dummy religion that nobody can take, for example?

Just throwing my hat into the ring here, as I have just recently had a character called 'Line of Osric' Crowl pop-up.

The AI, at my knowledge, does not change the name of their child. Meaning that the randomly assign name stays the same. The problem is that their is a 10% (maybe 20%, not sure) chance that the child is name after is grand-father/mother. In the case, line of whoever. At the earlier start date I see this happen to the Royce a lot. The simplest way to fix that is just to add a father to the current lord. This way the line of whoever is no longer a grand-parent and no child is name after them.

It's limited to max grandfather? That should be an easy fix. I would sacrifice a non-canon family member to not have this happen.

The culture files only mention grand-parents and the parents. 15% to be name after the paternal side and 10% after the maternal side. I would assume this exclude grand grand-parent which would solve the problem. May I also suggest posting the issue on the citadel website so that the devs will learn of it more easily?

This problem is now known, and should be fixed for the next update.
