Lash Slave?

What is the purpose of lashing your slaves, is there any modifiers or anything? What do you gain from doing it?
And how do you increase the size of your Crown Loyalist faction?

You are increase the size of your Crown loyalist faction by making your vassals like you, though traits like Content, Just and Honorable help. Vassals of vassals can join if they like you a lot more than their direct liege.

It's probably just for roleplaying/sadism, but I don't play slave legal realms that often.

Lashing is a useful mechanic to make your slaves' opinion of you rise. Each time a slave is lashed you gain a moderate amount of opinion with all of your slaves because they start to fear you.
