Launcher's are always broken.

This is a continuous issue. I own literally every paradox game and almost every dlc for all their games. Everytime I try to launch the following happens...

No matter what the game it is, this error always occurs if a launcher is involved.
I have updated the launcher and it says it is up to date. Renaming the file does not work, deleting the file does not work.
The only solution is to literally delete any evidence of the launcher across your whole computer. And apparently that solution does not stick because it is now back after a week.
I am out of options. What the f**k am I supposed to do?

We now have reports of this with Avast antivirus only, except just 1 report on AVG. Putting C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2021.10.1/paradox launcher.exe in all its exceptions lists, then deleting that sqlite folder one more time, seems to be fixing it reliably.



I also have one report that opting into the beta of the next launcher version 2022.1 helped.

That does not work sadly. Deleting and reinstalling all launcher files is a quick fix for the short term. Beta did not work.

But I have confirmed it is an issue with Avast antivirus as after I uninstalled it, the problem went away. So I just switched to a new Anti-Virus because I have been annoyed with Avast for a while.

Yes, for reasons I've never understood we've always had more trouble with Avast than any other AV app.
