Summary​

While fighting an independence war my liege called Templars to fight his religious rebels and they fought my armies

Description​

The Templars, who will only ever fight religious enemies when hired by the player, were able to fight my Catholic army when hired by my liege who I am presently rebelling against, and who is also fighting religious rebels.

Steps to reproduce​

1. Be a Catholic vassal
2. Declare independence war
3. Tag switch to liege
4. Trigger religious rebels
5. Hire religious order
6. Tag switch back to original ruler
7. Get smited

AFAIK, that's WAD - you can call an order, if and as long as your fighting someone belonging to a faith considered as at least "evil" in the games terms. But those troops then can be used against anyone you are at war at this point, even opponents not meeting the formentioned faith criteria...but only as long as another war is going on, which meets the criteria.

Not in my experience unless they've purposely changed it, hence my "who will only ever fight religious enemies when hired by the player". When I've tried to cheese fighting my own rebels and enemies of the same religion with orders before, the religious orders will stand at the side of my other armies and watch them get murdered.
