Hi guys,

After I update the game to version 1.04, every now and then the map will flickers (i.e. turns dark for a few seconds).
Only the map is affected. Everything else (units, cities) are not. This didn't happen in 1.03b.

I have the Steam version, if that's matter.

What version and checksum show on the main game menu? And can we see a dxdiag.txt please.

Hi Andrew, thank you for your speedy respond. :)

The version and checksum shown are 1.04 and MLDO, respectively. I'm running the game on Linux, so I'm afraid I don't have dxdiag.txt file to show you.

OK, well I'm sorry but that's a completely unsupported installation and I can't help you at all.

There was quite a bit of talk in the "CK2 for Mac" thread on Linux, Wine and so on, try reading that. If no help, then we can only hope that some of the Linux gurus here see and respond to your post.

Ah, well. That's a shame, but understandable. I was hoping that the problem I had would be related to the map graphical glitches that some people are experiencing with 1.04 on Windows.
Then again, I just tried the game on Windows and there are no problem, so it might be some changes in 1.04 that had the unintended consequence of causing the problem on Linux.

Still, thank you for your time, Andrew. :)
I'll check out the CK2 for Mac thread like you've suggested.

Hello there! Glad to see another Linux user here. :)

Hopefully someone could find a way to solve this issue. CK2 is one of the easiest Paradox game to get up and running on Linux and it would be a shame to let this issue plagues the game.

I use XP and when I move the map the stripes on the Realms map don't fully move along with it, acting as if they are a second layer below not in synch with the main map layer. Irritating, but no more.

Hi guys,

Unfortunately, it seems that the problem still persists after applying patches 1.04b and 1.04c. Even upgrade to Wine 1.5 doesn't solve the problem.

I have looked through the console outputs, and it seems that every time that the map flickers, the following error message appears:

Code:
fixme:d3d:wined3d_swapchain_set_gamma_ramp Ignoring flags 0x1.
fixme:d3d:wined3d_swapchain_set_gamma_ramp Ignoring flags 0x1.

Hopefully someone will know how to interpret that error message.
