i have the 2002 ubisoft UK CD-ROM version of EU2. i have the v1.05 patch installed.
whenever i click on the EU2 icon, i am brought to the usual "this game is for our fans" message, followed by the ubisoft video, then the paradox logo, and finally the napoleon quote and cathedral video.
then the window minimises, and i am brought to my desktop, with a minimised "Europa Universalis 2" in the taskbar tray. when i click on the minimised EU2, i am brought to a black screen with the game menu music playing. the only way to exit this is ctrl+alt+del.
if i try to load EU2 again, without resarting, the game proceeds completely normally and i am able to play the game.
although this doesnt prevent me from playing the game, it is worrying and is not preferable. is this a well known bug and how can i fix it?
