I decided to pick up this game again recently and played through a galaxy, but I noticed from the start of the game that the FPS seemed to be really low. I was having other PC issues (freezes, BSOD, etc.) so I didn't think too much of it. I recently did a clean install of Windows 10 to fix those issues and downloaded and installed the game again, but the frames were still really low. I enabled the system tracker through Geforce Experience and found my CPU usage around 5%, GPU around 30%, and only 23FPS. I understand the game only uses 1 core, and the late game lag can come from too many pops, habitats, etc., but this was on a new, medium sized, ring galaxy. FPS doesn't change whether paused or what speed the game is running.

My system uses:
Intel i7 4770k (not overclocked)
Nvidia GTX 980ti

I don't know if there's a known issue that can cause this or a simple fix, but any help anyone might have would be appreciated!
