Okay, I have a few questions.

I'm playing as France and I recently switched to reformed Protestant as my state religion, and my people just will *not* stop revolting! I can't switch back to Catholicism and the only other option is just Protestantism. I read that Reformed Protestantism adds a tax bonus so I decided to keep it. Any suggestions?

Also, does the game have to end at 1792 (correct?) I've never finished a full game, yet. I always restart and try the game out as another country or maybe the same country but use a different strategy. The possibilities are endless in this game! However, if I were to set the victory conditions to first person to gain 50 provinces, and no one has gained that many by 1792, what happens? Does the game end? And if so, is there any way to get rid of that 'cap?' I suppose if the best technology is something such as a musket it wouldn't be appropriate for the game to progress any further but surely there's a way just to remove the cap and play as long as one wants just for fun? Thanks!

Check your religion sliders, for one thing (click on your country shield top left, then click on the religious symbol, to access the sliders.

France has mostly Catholic and Reformed provinces, IIRC, so you need to be tolerant of those religions.

Don't convert from anything to anything if your stability is not +3, or you'll be in the mire. Remember that provinces where a +3 religion revolt risk was offset by a high stability, now has something like +8 revolt risk because you're totally unstable. If you have tax collectors, it's even worse. It's even WORSE worse if you have also been at war for some length of time.

I believe (but don't know, I've never converted yet) that converting religion can indeed spark numerous revolts (Catholic provinces don't want to be ruled by a Reformed government, now do they.) These are all factors to take into account.

U have to change back to protestantism before u can get back to catholicism. U do not wanna do that :D Reformed actually decreases tax income but u get the settlers and extra morale. Just be tolerant of catholics and reformed. They should be the only 2 religions in ur realm.

your rebellions are caused by your low stability. when you change religion, your stability goes to -3. Go to your budget window and put the stability slider all the way to thew right. within a few years (5-10 maybe) you shouldn't have rebellions anymore.

The game ends in 1792. if no one has 50 provinces (if that is your criteria), than no one wins.

When you max out your research, the money automatically gets invested in your treasury. So you see an increase in your monthly revenue, however your inflation also increase.

Thanks

Thanks guys. My stability has been 3 for a long while now but I realized that my sliders were all even to one another. I'll try raising only Catholic and Protestant to the max and see how that goes.
