Title says it all really, is the increase in cost to the RC Explorer from 400M to 1400M intentional? It's going to affect the harder difficulties pretty significantly, was planning on doing the 535%...

If it wasn't intentional anyone know the file to change it back.

EDIT: (Drone Rover and Transport stayed the same 200M and 300M respectively). Not passing judgement on if it's a good or bad change just curious...

It's absolutely intentional, and that's because with the harder difficulties buying tons of rovers for the tech that gives you passive science per rovers was by far the best way to get science. Now you really have to get a lot of cash to increase your rover count beyond the first.

I just got to Sol 93 on 535% difficulty while sending a RC Explorer on the first rocket.

That may be the reason but you're guessing right? You aren't a developer or haven't read a developer response saying that was the reason for the change. They could have changed the anomaly rover to say 800M why 1400? Perhaps a 1 was added accidentally in front of the 400M, we don't know yet, I don't think you can be absolute about it. There was a collaboration mechanic preventing multiple anomaly rovers from generating too much research previously. Perhaps they felt it wasn't enough it's certainly possible... but I'd prefer to actually know rather than speculate.

I guess the upcoming question will be If it was intentional is 1400M the right balance?

Because if the cost were less then even on Paradox difficulty I could send over two, which would be an almost 50% boost in my research. As it is for me right now sending a second one would be a serious project, as it should be.
 
Sorry guys, that is indeed a bug on our end. The change is not intentional and will be fixed in the first patch. Unfortunately this means that currently some sponsors that start with explorers will lose 1000 M at start.

Thanks for the reply Boyan is there a text file/xml etc. somewhere that the entry can be easily changed in for those who don't want to wait until the patch?

Even if it´s a nug it´s rather interesting this way.
If the rover just cost 400M it´s a no-brainer to spam some after the tech with for rovers is researched. Now I had to carefully evaluate for if it was worth it. Ended up being worth for one - and the other money was spent on outsourcing - getting me to USA achivement at sol 98.

You can create a mod from the mod editor, add a code item and type "CargoPreset.ExplorerRover.price = 400000000" in the script

You can use this to also increase the price if you wish after we fix the bug if you like the way it plays now.

Is that update being released today?
Steam is saying "Update Required (Not Queued)", and also "Scheduled for 12:53".

Is there anywhere in the game where you can see the current version number? (Wondering for the wiki.)
 
As for spamming them, I have two, and there is already a collaboration loss.

That would be the update. Push the up arrow button on the right and it will push it from scheduled to active.
