I remember reading somewhere that you can only have an object as tall as the tallest default buildings otherwise your object disappears when you zoom too far out.

Does anyone know if this is true?
If true can you some how bypass this limit and not have your object disappear?
If not what is the tallest something can be in meters?

I ask this because the London Eye on the steam workshop is very tall and disappears when you zoom too far out.

Funny what you can find on the forums. Yeah, my London Eye model isn't great when zooming out. I've been having problems with the LOD on most of my models, and the size of it doesn't matter since even my small models do this. I'm not sure how it calculates it, but something doesn't seem right. Does anyone know if there is a way to manually set the 'lower detailed' model so it doesn't calculate it weirdly? If not this would be a good feature to add in perhaps.

Hey, so I tested the '_LOD' thing. When I go in-game to the Asset Editor, the 'model.fbx' is on the list, but when I click on it nothing shows up and I can't click continue. It seems to be using the 'model_LOD.fbx' but it isn't actually working properly. Do you know what is wrong?

Also, I've checked the model_LOD, It's definitely under 100 tris.

I had this problem as well, took me hours to figer out I saved the Model as a Polly not a Mesh. Also had an extra peace floting around another time, that was not part of the export. make sure both of these are correct and you should be good.

PS I have so far made a tower 2x taller then there largest and every thing good. Witch according to 3ds Max is 410m tall.

Well, I figured out why it wasn't working. When exporting I forgot to click the 'only export selected'.. So it exported both versions of the model into the same one. Whoops :p

I'm still having a slight problem though, the LOD version is now showing up but is super shiny and I'm not sure why. It doesn't have a specular map... :\

From what I found it uses the same maps as for the high model, as I have not made any additionals. So if there was a lot shiny up close, might be intensified farther out.
